These AI Assessment Scales help teachers clearly communicate how much, if any, AI support students are allowed to use on their assignements. Just like some assignments require students to work on their own and others allow for group work or help from a teacher, these scales articulate how AI can or cannot be used on assignments. Teachers will let students know which level of AI use is allowed and will range from no AI use at all to full use with responsibility and oversight. This will help support students as they learn to use AI wisely and honestly as well as gives families a way to understand how to support learning at home. If your student says they are allowed to use AI on an assignment, they should be able to show you one of these scales and explain how and what level is allowed.
