Exceptional Children Preschool Services are provided to eligible children ages 3-5, as mandated by IDEA, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. We believe that high-quality early intervention can improve outcomes for children, families, and communities. Eligibility for services is determined in accordance with the NC Policies Governing Services for Children with Disabilities.

Exceptional Children Preschool Services are available in a variety of settings, such as a child’s community childcare center, his/her home school, or a school-based preschool classroom. Depending on the child’s needs, services may include one or more of the following:

• Developmental Screenings
• Comprehensive Evaluations
• Specialized Instruction
• Speech-Language Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Physical Therapy
• Vision Services
