New CTE Director Announced

With an extensive 25-year background in public education, Brian Lewis has been named the new Career Technical Education (CTE) Director, and he is set to begin his new role on Mar. 1, 2024.

Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Lewis stated, “I’m honored to have this opportunity to work with such an amazing CTE team in Caldwell County. I look forward to continuing the shared vision of Caldwell County Schools, “Challenging Children for Success,” by collaborating, innovating, and shaping a successful pathway that will prepare our students for their future.”

Lewis brings a wealth of experience to the CTE program, starting with his initial teaching position in 1996 as a Business/Marketing teacher. His diverse background includes employment as an electrical contractor and teaching positions in math and as an Electrical Trades/Home Technology Integrations teacher. In school administration, he has served as an assistant principal, administrator for the Online Catawba Virtual Learning Program, and, most recently, as a Curriculum and Instructional Management Coordinator, Career Development Coordinator, and Special Populations Coordinator at Alexander Central High School.

Taking on the role of CTE Director, Lewis succeeds Libby Huff, who retires after 25 years of dedicated service with the state of North Carolina.

Lewis holds a Bachelor of Arts in History at Lenoir-Rhyne College and a Master of Arts in Instructional Technology Facilitator and Computer Science from Appalachian State University. Additionally, he earned a Graduate level licensure in Educational Administration from the same institution.
